Those working remotely are free to choose their place of work – and pick the most beautiful one. As a result, new digital working communities are emerging in many places in rural Brandenburg.

New working spaces and forms of work

Co-working spaces, creative centres or MakerSpaces offer new work spaces and collaborative forms of working. 

With its Smart Country initiative, the WFBB supports this growth potential in rural areas in Brandenburg, initiates new development dynamics, new added value, new jobs an increases the visibility of digital places to the outside world.  

Focal points in this area:

  • Supporting stakeholders and their projects in digital places such as Smart Village Bad Belzig and Wiesenburg, Smart City Cottbus, Smarter Spreewald, etc.
  • Building new urban-rural relationships
  • Promoting exchange between co-working spaces, hubs and labs in the state of Brandenburg
  • Real-world labs, test fields and model regions with nationwide relevance
