Energy-efficient bakery

Bäckerei Fahland, a Potsdam-based bakery with branches in several locations in the state capital, had its energy use assessed by the Brandenburg Energy Agency as part of its drive to save energy. The assessment identified several starting points such as the potential for waste heat utilization to preheat burner air and boil hot water, as well as opportunities to install LED lighting and biomassfired ovens. Projections were also drawn up to identify the potential for installing a groundmounted photovoltaic system and for using the electricity it would generate in the bakery.

Commercial vehicle servicewith green energy

ENS Eberswalder Nutzfahrzeug Service GmbH & Co. KG (Barnim district) sought advice on energy efficiency from the Brandenburg Energy Agency. This resulted in a recommendation to install a PV system with battery storage, and tips on purchasing charging technology with intelligent control, insulating the building, and replacing the heating.

Outlet center promotes sustainable mobility

As a step towards sustainable mobility, OMF German Services GmbH put ten 11 kW charging points for electric vehicles into operation at the Designer Outlet Berlin in Elstal (Havelland district) at the beginning of 2024. The company is also planning to further expand its e-mobility infrastructure with ten fast-charging points with a capacity of 400 kW. WFBB’s Specialist Unit for Sustainable Mobility Solutions advised the shopping mall on planning and delivery.
