The Economic Development Agency Brandenburg (Wirtschaftsförderung Brandenburg, WFBB) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

This statement on digital accessibility applies to the WFBB websites available at wfbb.de and the subdomains arbeit.wfbb.de, gruendung.wfbb.de and energie-und-klimaagentur.wfbb.de.

As a public body within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, we are committed to making our websites accessible in accordance with the provisions of the Brandenburg Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (BbgBGG) and the Brandenburg Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BbgBITV), which implements Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Pursuant to Section 2 of the BbgBITV, websites and mobile applications are deemed accessible if they comply with the requirements of the harmonised European Standard EN 301 549 (current version). EN 301 549 refers to the requirements of the international standard Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance levels A and AA. These requirements form the basis of the testable success criteria for accessibility.

Efforts to support accessibility

Wherever possible, accessibility is incorporated into WFBB’s internal policies and processes. We involve people with disabilities in our user testing activities.

Status of compliance with the requirements

Due to the exceptions listed below, these websites are only partially compliant with the harmonised European Standard EN 301 549 (current version). We are working to address these issues as quickly as possible. Non-compliances and exceptions are outlined below.

Non-accessible content

Despite our best efforts, users may still encounter some accessibility issues. The following section describes content that is not yet fully accessible. We are continuously working to improve these areas. If you identify content that you believe is not accessible and which is not listed here, please contact us using the details provided below.

Navigation and menus:

  • Some buttons are currently not fully operable using a keyboard or screen reader.
  • In some areas, the focus order and the visibility of keyboard focus have not yet been implemented optimally.

Multimedia content:

  • Some sliders and image galleries are not yet fully operable using a keyboard or screen reader, and labels are either missing or have not yet been implemented correctly.

Documents and links:

  • Not all PDF documents fully comply with accessibility requirements.
  • Links within body text require additional information about the file format and purpose of the linked content.

Presentation and contrast:

  • The contrast between text and background is, in some cases, insufficient, particularly where text is displayed on images.
  • Font sizes, text wrapping and presentation in relation to individual user preferences (e.g. dark mode and zoom settings) are not yet dynamically adaptable in all areas.

Further issues:

  • Language changes (including international terms, headings and body text) are not yet consistently identified for screen readers.
  • Semantic structures (such as heading hierarchies, lists and dialog boxes) have not yet been fully implemented in some areas.

Technologies

The accessibility of these websites relies on the following technologies to function:

  • HTML
  • WAI_ARIA
  • CSS
  • Javascript
