Department of Media and ICT

Potsdam-Babelsberg is the German Hollywood. The location Potsdam-Babelsberg, the State of Brandenburg and its neighbour Berlin are a joint media region of international standing. And they are also pioneering in information and communication technology.

Our Department provides support to German and international companies relocating to Brandenburg and supports resident companies in their further development. This includes companies from the fields of film and TV production, digitalisation, creative industries, information technology as well as the geoinformation industry. Other topics include virtual, augmented and mixed reality (VR, AR, MR), mobile applications, IT security, big data and artificial intelligence, 5G and blockchain as well as the subject of the smart city and smart region.
