The district of Potsdam-Mittelmark is located in the south-west of Brandenburg, extending from the federal capital of Berlin to the state border with Saxony-Anhalt. This district, with over 200,000 inhabitants and the district town of Bad Belzig, surrounds Brandenburg an der Havel and partially the federal capital Potsdam.
The district’s traffic infrastructure is excellent. Central traffic routes join together here with the European motorway axis E 30 (A 2 and A 10) and the A 9. Furthermore, a dense network of well-developed national roads connects the district’s larger towns and economic centres with each other and national destinations.
