The district of Märkisch-Oderland, with around 190,000 inhabitants and the district town of Seelow, borders the federal capital Berlin and is characterised by a large number of mid-sized companies.
A major advantage of the location is its direct connection to the European traffic axis E 30 (the motorway ring A 10 has been expanded to include three lanes) and to the upcoming Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) in Schönefeld. In addition to the metropolitan region of Berlin, this means that all growth markets in Western and Eastern Europe can be reached just as quickly.

In addition to the globally operating logistics companies (for example DHL, UPS) and the fashion company Clinton in Hoppegarten, companies in the building materials industry (CEMEX, Heidelberger Kalksandstein, SAKRET) have settled. The rural areas in the east of the district have become home to large companies from the wood processing (Farmers Land Produktions GmbH) and energy production (EWE, WINGAS) sectors.
That way, the metropolitan area around Berlin, as well as emerging markets in western and eastern Europe, are easily accessible.
