The East Brandenburg region offers good prospects thanks to its geographical location: The districts of Märkisch-Oderland with the district town of Seelow and Oder-Spree with the district town of Beeskow as well as the town of Frankfurt (Oder) form the connecting region to the growth markets of Eastern Europe.
The excellent infrastructure creates optimal conditions for building bridges, with the European route E30 (A10/A12) passing directly through the region. This motorway runs from the Atlantic ports, right through Germany, then via Poznań, Warsaw, and Minsk, all the way to Moscow. The Paris-Moscow rail route also crosses through the eastern part of Brandenburg. When open, the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and the entire airport region will be less than an hour away. East Brandenburg is a business location with a future and has two regional growth areas with the towns of Frankfurt (Oder)/Eisenhüttenstadt and Fürstenwalde.
Whether in the Oderbruch, the “Märkische Schweiz” nature park, the picturesque Schlaubetal valley or at Lake Scharmützel – thanks to these charming natural surroundings, East Brandenburg offers both inhabitants and visitors an exceptionally high standard of living.
There are several economic hubs spread across the region. In Eisenhüttenstadt, a strong cluster of metal companies has developed around international steel company Arcelor Mittal. Progroup – one of the most innovative paper factories in Europe – is also located here.
In Frankfurt (Oder), the IHP (Leibniz-Institut) develops cutting-edge microelectronics and builds on the town’s long-standing tradition in semiconductor production and research. Researchers from all over the world are at work here. The start-up asgoodasnew operates an online platform for second-hand electronics and is also based here.
Hoopegarten is also home to the European headquarters of the fashion company Clinton (“Camp David”). The freight centre (GVZ) in Freienbrink enjoys an optimal location. Renowned industrial enterprises are also located inBeeskow, Seelow, Rüdersdorf, and Fürstenwalde – including steel casting company Duktil Guss and tyre manufacturer Goodyear Dunlop Tires Germany.
Thanks to maximum investment from the EU, the region also offers attractive conditions for moving to the area.
