Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA)
AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, represents the interests of exhibitors, organisers and visitors to trade fairs. Here you can get information on trade fairs in Germany and abroad, tips to assist with your trade fair preparations and useful information on the industry.

Federal Foreign Office
The Federal Foreign Office coordinates German diplomacy, performs foreign policy analysis and develops approaches and instructions for German missions. A sampling of the information on their server:

  • German missions in other countries.

iXPOS— Website for the global market
This website is a gateway to all of the services offered by German ministries, chambers, and state and private associations for the promotion of Germany’s foreign trade. It includes exchange pages for co-operations, products and consulting run by the German Chambers of Commerce abroad (AHK) and the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK). The button “Export Community” enables you to find partners and customers abroad.

Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA)
The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) is a superior federal authority subordinated to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). It is entrusted with important administrative tasks of the federal government in the following sectors

  • Foreign Trade
  • Promotion of Economic Development
  • Energy.

A central task of BAFA in the foreign trade sector is export control. Another relevant task of BAFA in the area of foreign trade is to implement the import regulations adopted as part of the European Union’s common trade policy. In the energy sector BAFA implements measures to promote a better use of renewable energies, the saving of energy, for the maintenance and extension of the power-heat-linkup and for German coal mining, and participates in crisis-contingency measures in the mineral oil sector.

BDI – Federation of German Industries
This website offers information on the German foreign trade policy and interesting reports on various countries and continents, including the US, China and Africa. It also includes valuable information on TTIP.

Federation of German Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services
The BGA is a link between industry, trades and retail. It represents twenty-eight business and employers’ associations that play a major role in the success of German foreign trade

German Chambers of Commerce (AHK)
The AHK is the contact point for chambers of commerce abroad. It supports German businesses with more than 1400 employees working in 117 offices in 80 countries around the world.

Enterprise Europe Network
The Network helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) make the most of business opportunities in the EU and beyond. Have a look at the many services offered free of charge by our 600 member organisations, including chambers of commerce and industry, technology centres, universities and development agencies

European Union
The “European server” is a gateway to the wealth of data provided by the EU. It includes links to all organs and political bodies of the Union.

Federal Export Credit Guarantees
Euler Hermes Aktiengesellschaft and PricewaterhouseCoopers Aktiengesellschaft Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft manage the official export credit guarantee scheme on behalf and for account of the Federal Government. “Hermes Covers” are provided specifically for developing difficult markets and maintaining economic ties even in adverse times. By taking on these guarantees, German businesses can secure international risks in export trade.

The Federal Government has set up so-called “export initiatives” for certain special sectors.

  • Civil security technologies and services
  • Promotion programme for the export of German companies in the food sector
  • Import Promotion Desk
  • International Manager Training Programme

The initiatives include market analyses, trade fair appearances, business trips, conferences and political lobbying.

Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI)
The website provides important information on foreign markets quickly and inexpensively. It also offers detailed, up-to-date market analyses, economic data and reports from some 200 countries, economic regions and national groupings (such as AFTA, CEFTA or SADC), as well as a database of facts, investment plans and development projects abroad that are funded by international institutions.

Market Access Database
This database developed by the European Commission includes a comprehensive list of tariffs and non-tariff measures for trade with more than 100 countries
