Rehabilitation in Brandenburg

Print page

Growth through quality and competence

Brandenburg’s twenty-nine in-patient and nine out-patient rehabilitation clinics care for around 70,000 patients and provide jobs to approximately 4,000 people. The above-average bed occupancy rate of 91% is an indication of the attractiveness and growth potential of these clinics. The basis for their success is the high quality standard of the services, which is reflected in particular in the above-average doctor/patient ratio compared to other German regions.

The success of Brandenburg as a rehab location also feeds on close ties with the varied tourist services in the region, especially eight officially recognised health resorts.

Rehabilitation as a scientific priority

Implementation of the latest R&D results and the availability of skilled medical specialists make Brandenburg an excellent location for in and out-patient rehabilitation.

Four private hospitals in the region founded a department of Rehabilitation Studies at the University of Potsdam in 2011. Moreover, a growing number of companies that offer products and services for in and out-patient rehabilitation are establishing facilities in Brandenburg, so rehab is set to become an even more important economic factor in future.

The industry’s growth potential feeds on both the demographic changes in the region and the fact that Brandenburg increasingly draws patients from elsewhere on account of its excellent rehabilitation facilities.
