Transport, Mobility and Logistics: a Major Cluster

Print page

A cluster that propels the German Capital Region

Five high-growth industries make up the Transport, Mobility and Logistics cluster:

  • Automotive — Practically every vehicle out and about on Germany’s roads incorporate parts made in Brandenburg.
  • Logistics — The capital region is Germany’s new number one logistics hub.
  • Aeronautics — Brandenburg counts among Europe’s main developers of state-of-the-art aircraft turbines.
  • Railway engineering — The biggest companies in the industry call Brandenburg home.
  • Intelligent transport systems — In the German Capital Region, major differences between cities and rural areas cater for the best innovation climate.

Main locations in the region

Interdisciplinary collaboration

Compared to other regions, Berlin-Brandenburg’s transport, mobility and logistics industries stands out on account of their interdisciplinary characteristics and the importance of intermodal transport. Consequently, the cluster’s development potential lies in the collaboration between the various industries. The German Capital Region plays a pioneering role in the field.

Berlin-Brandenburg is:

  • at the cutting edge of railway engineering in Europe
  • Europe’s most modern transport management location
